I wanted you to know I really enjoyed your workshop. It really helped me understand my district and the students in my district much better! A lot of the information we learned I had no idea about, but feel confident I can apply it in my classes. I really do appreciate your help. Thank you! Meaghan McDevitt, Pharmacy Technician Instructor, Massachusetts' Comprehensive High School
Thank you so much for the work you have done for our son. As parents, we were lost as to how to help him, and we needed someone trained in the "Science of Reading" to explain to the school district what was not working for him. He was not reading. Your expertise, willingness to observe him in the classroom, look at his IEP (and make recommendations), and ability to present data to administrators in an IEP meeting is beyond measure. We are happy to report that the district is now accommodating our son in ways that allow him to thrive. He is finally reading. We are so happy that we got to work with you! Kaitlyn Adams, Parent, Central Massachusetts
In your very first Powerpoint, you mentioned how this workshop would challenge our way of thinking, and how we would face some hard facts. You weren't lying!!! Everything that I've read, watched, and learned about over the past week has been more meaningful than I could have ever expected. While our school has quite a bit of work to do, I have recognized that I myself can improve upon some of my own instructional practices. I wish I could express the new sense of enthusiasm that I feel in anticipation of putting these into place. Thank you for this! Laura Dyer, 5th grade teacher, Nashua School District, Massachusetts
Thank you for everything. This has been my favorite professional development so far (out of 4) in this program. It is so awesome to have a professor not afraid to talk openly and honestly about all of these crazy issues that are in my face in my school district daily. This class has been really enjoyable, informative and I'm just so HAPPY that this is what future leaders in education are thinking and talking about! Emma Anderson, PK English/Spanish Dual Language Program, Boston Public Schools, Massachusetts
I wanted to thank you for letting me think "outside the box" for this workshop. As a result, I am experiencing an amazing awakening of dialogue in our school. In a nutshell, what started as a one-day meeting with a small group of students (to discuss diversity and culture) has blossomed into weekly lunches, with more and more students coming each time. They are hungry for dialogue and for someone who listens to their views and challenges. Just as you told us, I tell my students that they are my instructors when we meet. It is wonderful and I wanted to thank you for that idea. Susan Butler, Principal, Green Valley Public Schools, New Hampshire
